MPS-7 SERIES DISPLAY - OUTPUT MODE AND PROGRAMMING

HYSTERESIS DEFINITION

Hysteresis Mode (HYS): This output mode programs the sensor to control the output signals "NPN or PNP" at switch points "H-1/H-2" on the graph below.  The switch points are adjustable by touch panel and independent.  The Hysteresis is  value "h-1/h-2" to control the output signal below the switch point "H-1/H-2".  This is adjustable on the sensor and is mathematically defined as:

                             (switch point)      "H-1/H-2"

                                  MINUS

                          (Hysteresis value)  "h-1/h-2"

                                                  HYSTERESIS RANGE

Window Comparator Mode

WINDOW COMPARATOR DEFINITION

Window Comparator Mode: This output mode programs the sensor to provide an output signal "NPN/PNP" between switch  points "A" and "B" on the above graph.  The switch points "A-1/A-2" (Low point) and "B-1/B-2" (High point) are independent and adjustable on the sensor.  The window comparator mode is sometimes referred to as a "High/Low" setting or a "Failure prediction mode".  The reference depends on the application and pressure ranges.

Programming

MPS-74 Series Only

OUTPUT MODE, SWITCH POINT AND HYSTERESIS SETTINGS

Select output mode and value by pressing mode key one time ("1" displayed).  Change mode Hysteresis, Comparative Window, or off by using the arrow "UP" or "DOWN" keys.  By default, the switch output "H-1" will appear for the specific channel displayed.  Select value by using arrow "UP" or "DOWN" keys.  Press mode key to enter.  Select the hysteresis value "h-1" by using the arrow "UP" or "DOWN" keys.  Press mode to enter.  Repeat this procedure for each channel by pressing arrow "UP" key to change channel.

PRESSURE SCALE SETTING

Select the pressure scale for each individual channel by pressing mode key two times ("2" displayed) for MPS-74 series and nine times ("9" displayed) for the MPS-71 series.  Select the scale for the appropriate remote sensor.  After selecting, display will automatically default to the next channel.

P1: Vacuum 0 to -30inHg Select -inHg, -mmHg, -bar, -PA by using arrow "UP" and "DOWN" keys.  Press mode key to enter.
P2: Low Pressure 0 to 14.5 PSI Select PSI, Kgf/cm2, bar, PA by using arrow "UP" and "DOWN" keys.  Press mode key to enter.
P3: Pressure 0 to 145 PSI Select PSI, Kgf/cm2, bar, PA by using arrow "UP" and "DOWN" keys.  Press mode key to enter.
P4: Compound -14.7 PSI to +72.5 PSI Select -PSI, Kgf/cm2, bar, PA by using arrow "UP" and "DOWN" keys.  Press mode key to enter.

OUTPUT OPEN OR CLOSE SETTING

Select output configuration N.O. or N.C. for each individual channel by pressing the mode key and arrow "UP" keys simultaneously.  Select output configuration N.O. or N.C. by using arrow "UP" or "DOWN" keys.  Press the mode key to enter.  Display will automatically default to the next channel.  Repeat this procedure.

LOCK OUT SETTING

To activate or deactivate lock out feature, press the mode key and arrow "DOWN" key simultaneously.

SCREEN SAVER OPTION

Activate  the screen saver mode by pressing the mode key three times ("3" displayed).   Activate this function by selecting  "ON" with the arrow "UP" or "DOWN" keys.  If activated, the display will automatically turn off after ten seconds saving approximately 20mA of current.
